City Nights in Dublin and New Delhi

ONE NIGHT IN DUBLIN

At her mother’s prompting (nagging) about grandchildren, Sive wonders if it really is time to settle down. She’s just finishing college so she should be thinking about her future. But is she ready to settle down? Is she ready for kids? And more importantly, which of the three men she’s been seeing does she want to spend the rest of her life with? Sive has a choice to make, and only 24 hours in which to make it.

This was a quick read that had surprising depth as it was a journey of self-discovery for Sive. It was a story of empowerment and of not settling. Sive was a likable woman put through the wringer but who came out stronger because of it. Adrian was truly romantic in all his words and deeds and I'm still dreaming of his Adonis looks and kind heart. Their one night together was scorching after an initial meeting that crackled with sexual tension. Along with the strong personal connections was a loving tribute to Dublin itself through the vividly depicted scenery and colorful denizens that made you feel like you were there. All in all it was a story that fully immersed me in the action from the very first page to the last and its rocky and romantic journey to its satisfying conclusion well worth it. - J. Faltys, Amazon

ONE NIGHT IN NEW DELHI

Invited to the National Museum of India in New Delhi to inspect a rare find from a recent excavation, the last person Hannah Maguire expects to see is her former lover, Sudesh Kumar. Sparks instantly fly, but will her one night with him be one to remember or will Sudesh's secret send her into a tailspin she may never recover from this time?

The author does an amazing job of creating a setting so rich and vibrant in color, sight and smell, it gives the reader a real sense of being there in the marketplace with Hannah and Sudesh, touching the fabrics, eating the food and hearing the hustle and bustle of the people all around. - S. Bryant, Goodreads

One Night in Dublin is now available at all major ebook sellers for just $2.99.

Reviews are already coming in --

If you’re looking for a fun, light, and sexy read, look no further than One Night in Dublin. Once I got started, I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. Wow! I was swept away to Ireland where I was drawn into the protagonist’s life changing choices she would make during one of the busiest times of Dublin’s year—St. Patrick’s Day. And boy does it bring a surprise. Enjoy. I know I did. ~ Amanda Berbatiotis, Goodreads, 5 stars

Sive has decided to make a choice on St. Patrick’s Day – a big choice that could impact her future significantly. In the midst of all the hoopla of the celebrations taking place in Dublin we meet the three men in Sive’s life and hear her thoughts as she tries to determine which one might be her forever guy. This novella is more than a love story. It tells of the growth in character of Sive, gives history of the city and provides an ending that is better than even Sive expected. This is a well-crafted, well-told story that had me riveted and rooting for Sive throughout. And, the guy she ends up with would be any woman’s dream! ~ Cathy Geha, Goodreads, 5 stars

Thank you so much, Amanda and Cathy! I'm so thrilled you both enjoyed this story.

Have you read One Night in Dublin? If so, I'd love to hear what you thought of it.

So, I hear you asking, "Kem, when do we get to see your cover?"

Well . . . soon! I'm currently organizing a cover reveal. I'll post the cover as soon as the book goes up for pre-order, which I hope will be before Ho Ho Day. For a hint of what you can expect from the hero of this story, check out my last blog, Beardy Goodness ;-)

Beardy Goodness

Incredibeard - Isaiah Webb
So, last night, I participated in a great event to help celebrate the release of an anthology of sexy stories by some of my online buddies . . . The Lady Smut Book of Dark Desires. We all had a great time and I met some new and fabulous folks...and picked up a few new friends on my Facebook page.
One of the best discussions we had on my side of things was the topic of men with beards in romance, erotica, and erotic romance. We all shared some feelings on the matter, and shared some photos of some great bearded men!

The general consensus was that a lot of women didn't realize some of the men they were attracted to were beardies! And some of those who were deadset against men with facial hair, quickly changed their minds when we shared some of photos of hunky bearded men.

Here's the link if you want to check out the discussion.

One of the main reasons I posed the question 'to beard or not to beard', was because I'm about to release a new volume in the City Nights Series from Tirgearr Publishing -- One Night in Dublin (out 27 February 2015).

In my book, the hero has a beard. Not just facial scruff, but a full-on, fist full of whiskers beard. I've never written a bearded hero before, nor a bad guy for that matter, so this was a great challenge for me.

Other great challenges were writing in the first person/present tense, and setting a full story within a 24 hour time frame. But those are subjects for another post. Today, I'm sharing some images of some great bearded men who have cropped up on the big screen in the last year or two.

I also want to shore up the prediction I made over the summer while writing One Night in Dublin. That is, we'll see more bearded heroes in 2015. Not the facial scruff kind, but the full-on, fist full of whiskers kind ;-)

Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones
Anson Mount from Hell on Wheels
Aaron Kaufmann from Fast and Loud (Gas Monkeys Garage)
Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok and Clive Standen as Rolo on Vikings
Liam Neeson in Star Wars
Timothy Olyphant from Justified
So, if you've gotten this far in the post, I'd love to hear your thoughts on 'to beard or not to beard' when it comes to the heroes in the books you read. I bet you have some favorite actors or other performers who have beards and you really never thought if you liked them because of their beard or not . . . George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, Chuck Norris, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Russell Brand, Leonardo Di Caprio . . . the list goes on. I'd love to hear some of your favorites. Those above are some of mine.

You can find me on Facebook and Twitter to share your comments.

More coming soon about One Night in Dublin. Watch this space!

Thank you!

I wanted to say thank you for joining the Snog for Sommer event last month. 69 authors were involved in an internet snogathon . . . all of us posting our favorite snog scene from one of our books. You can read mind at the link above . . . a very sexy scene from my latest book, Shape of My Heart.

This event was held to help receive donations on behalf of the lovely author, Sommer Marsden, whose husband was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

At the end of the event, the organizers were proud to have gifted over £1500 to the Marsden family (figures increased from what's posted on the Smut for Good site). So thank you to everyone who donated, and thanks for reading our snog scenes. We hope you enjoyed them.

You can continue supporting the Marsden family by buying Sommer's books here.

★ On the note of books, my Irish Pride trilogy is still on sale. Grab each book for just 99c/77p while the sale is going.

And keep your eyes open for my next book, One Night in Dublin, out 27 February as part of the City Nights series from Tirgearr Publishing.

Here's a little excerpt --
Choices.
We all make them. From the moment we wake up, it's: “do I get out of bed now or hit the snooze button . . . again,” “shall I wear this outfit to work or that one,” “tea and toast or grab something on the way?”
It's all mundane bullshit. They’re all choices we make on the fly without even realizing we're making them.
Think about it. What choices do you make when you’re not thinking about them. Like going home from work. You get on the train, find a seat and wait for your stop. But when you get there, you wonder how the hell you got there because you don’t remember making the journey.
What I’m trying to say is that we often go on auto-pilot and just do what needs doing without any real thought, because there are usually more pressing things to think about—the important things.  Or seemingly so. Like, what movie to see, what restaurant to eat in, where to go on holidays . . . and for some girls, this pair of sensible shoes on sale or another pair not on sale but are immensely sexier?
For me, today, my choices aren't so mundane, and they’ll require a lot of conscious thought. I have an important choice to make. One that could change my life forever, pardon the cliché.
They—whoever 'they' are—say there is someone for everyone, that we all have a 'type' of person we're attracted to. I'm still figuring it all out . . . exploring to see what is my type . . . that someone just for me. And it doesn’t help that my mum’s voice is in the back of my head, asking . . . ie nagging (yes, I just said ie) . . . when I’m going to settle down and give her grandkids.
First, let me say this: I'm not a slut. I'm not loose, I don't carelessly sleep around, and I don't do one night stands. I just love men and all of their vast differences.
What can I say about my boys that every other woman out there doesn’t already know about men? Charmers, every one of them. But they all give me something I need.
Tonight I need to decide what, or who, I need the most—Fitzy, Moss, or Sully.
Sounds like fun, doesn't it?!

I hope you'll join me on the next path my writing is taking me, even if it's only for One Night in Dublin! ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!
